Target Information

α-Tocopherol (alpha-tocopherol) is a type of vitamin E (VE). It is the most prevalent form of VE which is involved in molecular, cellular, biochemical processes closely related to overall lipoprotein and lipid homeostasis. In greyhounds, supplementation with alpha-tocopheryl acetate increased serum alpha-tocopherol concentrations and reversed the post-race decline in alpha-tocopherol concentrations, which may reduce oxidation during exercise and improve performance or recovery.
