Target Information
Aviadenoviruses encompass adenoviruses that predominantly affect avian species including chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and pheasants, and consist of 15 unique species. Among them, Fowl adenovirus serotype 4 (FAdV-4) is notably virulent, particularly impacting broilers between the ages of 3 to 5 weeks, leading to significant economic losses in the global poultry sector. FAdV-4 is responsible for the onset of hydropericardium-hepatitis syndrome (HHS), also known as hydropericardium syndrome (HPS).
