Bovine ATP Citrate Synthase (ACLY) is a key enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of citrate to cytosolic acetyl-CoA, an essential process for fatty acid synthesis and cholesterol production. This enzyme hydrolyzes ATP to generate acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate, integrating nutrient availability and energy metabolism. ACLY is a homotetramer and plays a central role in lipid biosynthesis and cellular energy regulation. Dysregulation of ACLY is associated with metabolic disorders and cancer.
