Target Information

Transcription factor IIB p62 (TFIIB p62), also known as the large subunit of TFIIB, is a component of the transcription factor IIB complex, which is integral to the initiation phase of transcription by RNA polymerase II. This 62-kDa protein plays a multifaceted role in the assembly of the pre-initiation complex, interacting with the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and other transcription factors to recognize and bind to the promoter region of target genes. TFIIB p62 is involved in the recruitment of RNA polymerase II to the transcription start site, thereby facilitating the initiation of gene transcription. Its function is essential for the regulation of a wide array of cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and response to environmental stimuli.
