Target Information
Bovine interleukin 12 (IL-12) and interleukin 23 (IL-23) are cytokines that play crucial roles in the immune response, particularly in the regulation of T cell-mediated immunity. They share a common p40 subunit, which is a target for therapeutic interventions in immune-mediated diseases. IL-12 promotes the differentiation of naive T cells into Th1 cells, enhancing the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and contributing to the defense against intracellular pathogens. IL-23, on the other hand, is essential for the maintenance and expansion of Th17 cells, which are involved in chronic inflammation and autoimmune responses.
