Target Information

Bovine MRPS22 (mitochondrial ribosomal protein S22) is a component of the mitochondrial small ribosomal subunit (28S), involved in protein synthesis within the mitochondria. This protein is encoded by a nuclear gene and is essential for mitochondrial function. Defects in MRPS22 can lead to combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiencies. MRPS22 is highly conserved across species and is localized to the mitochondrion.
