Target Information
Canine B-Raf, a serine/threonine-protein kinase, is a key component of the MAPK signaling pathway, which regulates cell growth, proliferation, and survival. Mutations in the B-Raf gene, particularly the BRAF V450E mutation, have been identified in various canine cancers, including urinary carcinomas, and are associated with the activation of this pathway, leading to uncontrolled cell division and tumor development. In dogs, the presence of BRAF mutations offers diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities, as targeting the BRAF/MAPK pathway may provide clinical benefits for dogs with these mutations, especially in cancers such as urothelial carcinoma.
