Target Information
Canine T-complex protein 1 subunit 11 like 2 (TCP11L2), also known as chaperonin containing TCP1 subunit 2, is a constituent of the CCT (chaperonin containing TCP1) or TRiC (TCP1 ring complex), which is a crucial molecular chaperone complex in cells. This complex plays a vital role in protein homeostasis by assisting in the folding of a wide range of proteins, including cytoskeletal proteins like actin and tubulin. The TRiC/CCT complex is involved in multiple physiological and pathological processes, such as cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, autophagy, and signal transduction. Dysfunction of the TRiC/CCT complex has been linked to various diseases, including neuropathies, cardiovascular diseases, and malignancies. In dogs, TCP1 is likely to have similar functions, making it an important target for understanding and potentially treating diseases associated with protein misfolding and aggregation.
