Target Information
Transcription factor IIB (TFIIB) is a global transcription initiation factor that plays a pivotal role in the process of transcription by RNA polymerase II. It is one of the general transcription factors essential for the initiation of gene expression in eukaryotic cells. TFIIB is involved in the formation of the pre-initiation complex, which is a crucial step in the transcription of DNA into RNA. It interacts with other transcription factors and the core promoter region of DNA to help position the RNA polymerase II at the correct location for initiating transcription.
