Target Information

Porcine alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) is a large plasma protein encoded by the A2M gene. It is a member of the macroglobulin family and has a wide range of functions, including trapping proteases, transporting zinc, and binding inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines. A2M acts as a broad-spectrum proteinase inhibitor, forming complexes with various proteases to prevent their interaction with substrates.
