Target Information

Chicken beclin 1 is a key regulator of autophagy, playing a central role in the formation of autophagosomes by mediating the formation of phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. It acts as a core subunit of the PI3K complex and is involved in multiple cellular processes, including endocytosis, cytokinesis, and antiviral defense. Beclin 1 can also promote apoptosis when localized to mitochondria.
