Target Information

Porcine CD27, equivalent to the human CD27 antigen, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNF-R) superfamily. It is primarily expressed on the surface of immune cells, particularly T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, where it plays a critical role in the regulation of immune responses. CD27 is involved in the activation, proliferation, and survival of these cells, and it is particularly important in the context of the adaptive immune system. As a molecular target, CD27 is significant due to its potential role in modulating immune responses, making it a candidate for therapeutic intervention in various immune-related diseases. It has been studied in the context of autoimmune diseases, where it could potentially be targeted to dampen excessive immune reactions, and in cancer immunotherapy, where it could be leveraged to enhance the immune system's ability to recognize and eliminate cancer cells.
