Target Information

Chicken IgM, also known as immunoglobulin M, is the predominant antibody found in the serum of chickens, playing a crucial role in the primary immune response. IgM is a pentameric molecule with a high molecular weight, which provides it with the ability to activate complement pathways effectively and bind to antigens with high avidity. As the first antibody produced following an initial exposure to a new antigen, IgM is a critical component of the humoral immune response in chickens. It is produced by B cells shortly after antigen recognition and serves as a major defense mechanism against invading pathogens.
