Target Information
Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) is a highly contagious pestivirus that affects pigs and causes significant losses in the swine industry. The non-structural protein 4A (NS4A) of CSFV is a small protein that has been implicated in various aspects of the virus's replication cycle and pathogenesis. The NS4A is a potential target for antiviral strategies against CSFV due to its role in modulating host cell processes to favor viral replication. It is believed to interact with host cell proteins and possibly contribute to the evasion of the host immune response. Inhibiting the function of NS4A could disrupt these interactions and impair the virus's ability to replicate effectively.
