Product Overview

BioVenic mouse monoclonal antibody is specific for Escherichia coli (E. coli). It was produced in hybridoma and subsequently assessed for purity using SDS-PAGE. It can be applied to sandwich ELISA and lateral flow immunoassay to diagnose cholecystitis, bacteremia, cholangitis, urinary tract infection (UTI), and traveler's diarrhea. The clone O18Y99 can be used as capture antibody in the ELISA assay, and the clone O18Y100 can be used as detection antibody in the ELISA assay.

Target Information

While most strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli) are harmless, certain pathogenic variants have captured global attention. E. coli strains that produce toxins, such as Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) and enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC), are known for their ability to cause gastrointestinal infections. These infections can range from mild diarrhea to severe cases of hemolytic uremic syndrome, a condition that can lead to kidney failure.
