Target Information
Mycoplasma synoviae infection manifests primarily as a respiratory disease, characterized by respiratory distress, nasal discharge, sneezing, and conjunctivitis. Affected birds may exhibit decreased feed intake, reduced growth rates, and decreased egg production in layers. In addition to respiratory signs, the bacterium can also lead to joint inflammation (synovitis) and leg weakness, which can severely impact mobility and overall bird welfare.
