Target Information
Porcine ankyrin repeat domain 1 (pANKRD1), also known as cardiac ankyrin repeat protein (CARP), is a protein that contains ankyrin repeat domains, which are involved in protein-protein interactions and are commonly found in proteins that regulate ion channels and cellular signaling pathways. pANKRD1 plays a significant role in cardiac muscle function and is highly expressed in the heart. This protein is known to modulate the activity of the calcineurin-NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T cells) signaling pathway, which is crucial for cardiac development and the response to stress. pANKRD1 has also been implicated in the regulation of muscle metabolism and gene expression, particularly in response to exercise or disease states.
