Target Information

Porcine clathrin light chain B (pCLC B) is a member of the clathrin light chain family, which are integral to the formation of clathrin-coated vesicles that mediate endocytosis in cells. This protein associates with clathrin heavy chains to create the lattice structure of the vesicles, facilitating the internalization of membrane proteins and lipids. pCLC B is expressed in various tissues and plays a crucial role in the regulation of intracellular trafficking, particularly for the uptake of nutrients and the modulation of cell surface receptors. Its function is highly conserved across mammals, indicating a fundamental role in cellular physiology.
