Target Information
Porcine patatin-Like phospholipase domain containing 3 (pPNPLA3), also known as adiponutrin, is an enzyme that belongs to the patatin-like phospholipase family. pPNPLA3 is involved in the hydrolysis of triglycerides and phospholipids, playing a role in lipid metabolism within the cell. This protein is particularly abundant in adipose tissue and liver, where it contributes to the regulation of energy storage and utilization. In pigs, pPNPLA3 may be associated with the development of adipose tissue, insulin sensitivity, and the maintenance of lipid homeostasis. It is also implicated in the response to nutritional challenges and may influence the overall metabolic health of the animal.
