Target Information
Porcine stathmin-like 2 (pSTMN2), also known as Op18, is a phosphoprotein found in pigs that belongs to the stathmin family. It plays a critical role in the regulation of the cytoskeleton, particularly in the dynamics of microtubules. pSTMN2 is involved in various cellular processes such as cell division, intracellular transport, and signal transduction. This protein is known to destabilize microtubules by promoting their depolymerization, which is essential for allowing cells to reorganize their cytoskeleton during mitosis and other dynamic cellular events. The activity of pSTMN2 is tightly controlled through phosphorylation, which can either activate or inhibit its function depending on the cellular context.
