Target Information

Bovine fatty acid binding protein 3 (FABP3) is a member of the FABP family, which binds fatty acids and plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism. It is highly expressed in cow mammary tissue and is significantly upregulated during lactation, suggesting its involvement in milk fat synthesis. FABP3 is also implicated in the transport of fatty acids from cumulus cells to oocytes via transzonal projections (TZPs) during in vitro maturation (IVM) of bovine oocytes, which may contribute to lipid accumulation in oocytes.
