Target Information
Canine arginine esterase, also known as canine prostate-specific arginine esterase (CPSE), is a serine protease that is primarily secreted by the canine prostate gland. It is a major androgen-dependent protein and constitutes a significant portion of seminal plasma proteins in dogs. CPSE is structurally similar to human prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and serves as a biomarker for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in dogs.
