Target Information
Canine interleukin 4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by T helper type 2 (Th2) cells, mast cells, and basophils, playing a central role in immune responses to parasites and allergens. IL-4 drives the differentiation of naive T cells into Th2 cells and regulates immunoglobulin class switching to IgE, which is crucial for type I hypersensitivity reactions and allergic responses. This cytokine is also involved in the pathogenesis of allergic conditions like asthma and atopic dermatitis.
