Target Information

Chicken calmodulin is a versatile calcium sensor protein that plays a critical role in various cellular processes in chickens, including muscle contraction, nerve function, and intracellular signaling. It is a small, acidic protein with four calcium-binding motifs, and upon binding to calcium, it undergoes conformational changes that enable it to interact with and regulate the activity of its target enzymes. Calmodulin is highly conserved across species, and the chicken calmodulin has been shown to functionally complement the calmodulin deficiency in yeast, highlighting its essential role in cell proliferation.
