Target Information

Feline Aminopeptidase N (ANPEP) is a membrane-bound metalloprotease with multiple functions. It is expressed in the small intestine, renal epithelial cells, and other tissues. ANPEP plays a key role in the final digestion of peptides generated from protein hydrolysis by gastric and pancreatic proteases. Additionally, it serves as a receptor for feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV) and other coronaviruses. In veterinary medicine, ANPEP is important for understanding viral infections and developing diagnostic tools for feline diseases.
