Target Information

Streptococcus suis is broadly recognized as a prevalent and significant pathogen affecting swine. Infections caused by S. suis can lead to conditions such as meningitis, polyarthritis, polyserositis, endocarditis, septicemia, and sudden death, causing notable economic losses in pig farming. Fibronectin-/fibrinogen-binding protein (FBPS) is a prototypic member of the anchorless fibronectin-binding proteins (FnBPs), which are a group of important virulence factors.

Target Streptococcus suis fibronectin/fibrinogen-binding protein (FBPS)
Target Synonym Fibronectin-/fibrinogen-binding protein; FBPS
Taxonomy ID 1307
