Target Information

Vibrio is a genus of Gram-negative bacteria characterized by a curved-rod (comma) shape, with several species known to cause the foodborne or soft-tissue infection known as Vibriosis. Infections are often linked to consuming undercooked seafood. While several Vibrio species are pathogenic, most disease-causing strains are associated with gastroenteritis but can also infect open wounds and lead to sepsis.
