Target Information

Aleutian disease, first identified in mink during the 1940s, is caused by a parvovirus. Mink that are homozygous for the Aleutian gene are the most severely affected, lending the disease its name. It is an immune complex-mediated disorder characterized by hypergammaglobulinemia.
