Target Information

Clostridium butyricum is a strictly anaerobic, Gram-positive bacillus that forms endospores and produces butyric acid through fermentation. It utilizes an intracellularly accumulated amylopectin-like α-polyglucan known as granulose as its substrate. This bacterium was first isolated from pig intestines by Prazmowski in 1880.
