Target Information

Borrelia anserina is a helical spirochete bacterium. In microbiology labs, it can be cultured on specially enriched media containing proteins, such as ovoalbumins or animal tissue with myoglobin, under anaerobic conditions. B. anserina acts as a pathogenic agent in poultry, including chickens, turkeys, and ducks, causing a disease known as borreliosis or spirochetosis.
