Target Information

Porcine circovirus (PCV) is a widespread virus affecting pigs globally. Porcine circovirus type 1 (PCV1) is the type-specific virus of the Circovirus genus. Although PCV1 has been identified for several decades as a common contaminant in laboratory cell cultures and is prevalent in commercial swine, it is nonpathogenic.
