Target Information

Streptococcus suis is one of the most important zoonotic pathogens causing serious diseases in both pigs and humans, especially serotype 2. Infections caused by S. suis can lead to conditions such as meningitis, polyarthritis, polyserositis, endocarditis, septicemia, and sudden death, causing notable economic losses in pig farming. In humans, most clinical cases were associated with serotype 2 strains.
