Target Information

Pichia kudriavzevii, formerly known as Candida krusei, is a budding yeast species involved in chocolate production. This fungus is an emerging nosocomial pathogen, mainly affecting immunocompromised individuals and those with hematological malignancies. In cattle, Candida krusei can cause mastitis, not only following intramammary antibiotic treatment but also under conditions of significant environmental contamination and inadequate milking hygiene.
