Target Information

Infection with Mycobacterium marinum typically occurs after skin and soft-tissue injuries come into contact with aquatic environments or marine animals. These bacteria are widespread in aquatic settings and are most commonly transmitted through exposure to both fresh and salt water, including contact with marine organisms, as well as in swimming pools and aquariums.
