Microsporum nanum is a pathogenic fungus in the family Arthrodermataceae. This dermatophyte infects dead keratinized tissues, including skin, hair, and nails. Pigs and sheep serve as the natural hosts for this fungus, although it can also infect humans. Most reported human cases are linked to pig farming.
