Target Information

Florfenicol, a fluorinated synthetic derivative of thiamphenicol, is primarily utilized as an antibiotic in veterinary medicine. As a bacteriostatic antibiotic, it is predominantly employed to combat various diseases in farm and aquatic animals. This synthetic counterpart of thiamphenicol and chloramphenicol functions by inhibiting ribosomal activity, which disrupts bacterial protein synthesis. It has demonstrated effectiveness against numerous Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial species.
