Target Information

Canine heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (hnRNP A1) is a key RNA binding protein that regulates RNA metabolism, including transcription, alternative splicing, translation, and mRNA stability. It acts as a potent splicing factor, influencing multiple splicing events and collaborating with other splicing factors by binding to regulatory elements in exons or introns. Additionally, hnRNP A1 can modulate gene transcription by interacting with promoters or affecting Pol II activities and impact mRNA translation by interacting with the internal ribosome entry site (IRES) or 3'-UTR of mRNAs. Its dysregulation is associated with various diseases, particularly cancers and neurodegenerative diseases, making it a promising therapeutic target for these conditions in dogs.
