Target Information

Canine sirtuin 2 (cSIRT2) is a NAD+-dependent deacetylase enzyme that is part of the sirtuin family, known for its regulatory roles in various cellular processes in dogs. cSIRT2 is predominantly found in the cytoplasm and mitochondria, where it exerts its influence on cell cycle regulation, metabolic balance, and stress response. This enzyme is particularly noted for its ability to deacetylate alpha-tubulin, a key component of microtubules. By doing so, cSIRT2 modulates the dynamics and stability of the microtubules, which are essential for maintaining cellular structure and facilitating intracellular transport mechanisms.
