Target Information

Chicken CD1.1 is a glycoprotein found on the surface of certain cells within the avian immune system, playing a role in antigen presentation and immune response modulation. As a member of the CD1 family of molecules, which are distinct from the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins, CD1.1 is involved in the recognition of lipid and glycolipid antigens by T cells, particularly natural killer T (NKT) cells and some subsets of T cells. The CD1.1 molecule is instrumental in initiating an immune response against certain pathogens, including intracellular bacteria and parasites, by presenting their lipid antigens to T cells. This process can lead to the activation of immune cells and the production of cytokines, which help to coordinate the overall immune response.
