Specifications
Target Information
Equine IgG is the principal immunoglobulin found in the plasma of horses, representing up to 80% of the total immunoglobulin concentration. It plays a critical role in the immune response, particularly in opsonization and neutralization reactions. There are several subclasses of IgG in horses, including IgGa, IgGb, IgGc, and IgG(T), each with distinct physicochemical properties and immune functions. IgG is essential for the health of foals, especially in the context of passive immunity transfer, where insufficient acquisition of maternal immunoglobulins can lead to severe health risks.
