Target Information
Porcine CD274, also known as Porcine Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1), is a protein that plays a crucial role in the immune system of pigs. It is a member of the B7 family of proteins and is primarily expressed on the surface of antigen-presenting cells, such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells. The primary function of CD274 is to inhibit the immune response by binding to its receptors, PD-1 (Programmed cell death protein 1) and CD80 (B7-1), which are found on the surface of T cells. This interaction helps to regulate the immune response, preventing excessive activation of T cells and maintaining self-tolerance. Dysregulation of CD274 expression has been implicated in various diseases, including infections and cancers, where it can contribute to immune evasion.
