Target Information

Porcine elav-like protein 4 (pELAVL4), also known as HuD, is a member of the embryonic lethal abnormal vision-like (ELAVL) family of RNA-binding proteins found in pigs. These proteins are characterized by their ability to bind to AU-rich elements (AREs) in the 3' untranslated regions (3' UTRs) of target mRNAs, thereby playing a role in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. pELAVL4 is particularly important for the stability and translation of specific mRNAs, which can influence various cellular processes such as neuronal development, cell survival, and synaptic plasticity. This protein is highly expressed in the brain and has been implicated in the regulation of genes associated with learning and memory.
