Target Information
Porcine protein phosphatase 1D magnesium-dependent subunit delta, also known as PPM1D, is a serine/threonine protein phosphatase that plays a significant role in cellular responses to DNA damage. This enzyme is a key regulator of the DNA damage response and is involved in a wide range of pathologic processes, including fertility, development, stemness, immunity, tumorigenesis, and treatment responsiveness. In pigs, PPM1D may serve as a potential therapeutic target for diseases characterized by aberrant cell proliferation and DNA damage response, such as cancer. The overexpression or mutation of the PPM1D gene can contribute to tumorigenesis and resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
