Specifications
Target Information
Porcine AMP-activated protein kinase alpha 1 and 2 (pAMPKα1/2) are catalytic subunits of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) complex, which acts as a cellular energy sensor and plays a crucial role in maintaining energy homeostasis. AMPK is allosterically activated by an increase in the AMP-to-ATP ratio, which indicates low cellular energy levels. Once activated, pAMPKα1/2 modulates various metabolic pathways to promote energy production and reduce energy consumption. The pAMPKα1/2 subunits are essential for the kinase activity of the AMPK complex. They are involved in the regulation of lipid metabolism, glucose homeostasis, and the inflammatory response.
