Target Information

Porcine tubulin polymerization promoting protein (TPPP), also known as p25, is an important regulator of microtubule dynamics. It interacts directly with tubulin to promote microtubule assembly and stabilize the microtubule network, which is crucial for various cellular processes including cell division, intracellular transport, and maintenance of cell shape. TPPP is a brain-specific protein that is enriched in pathological brain inclusions and has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. It can induce the formation of double-walled microtubules and aberrant tubulin aggregates, indicating its significant role in the regulation of the cytoskeleton.
