Target Information

The Nipah virus, originating from bats, is a zoonotic pathogen responsible for causing Nipah virus infection in both humans and various animals. This disease has an alarmingly high mortality rate, ranging from 40 to 75%. Transmission to humans can occur through animals such as bats or pigs, contaminated food, or direct human-to-human contact. Fruit bats from the Pteropodidae family are identified as the virus's natural hosts.
