Target Information

Porcine CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on the surface of mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor, binding lipopolysaccharides in a reaction catalyzed by lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP). This interaction is crucial for immune responses to bacterial infections. Additionally, CD14 can bind apoptotic cells and influence allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
