Vesicular exanthema of swine virus (VESV) is a non-enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus within the genus Vesivirus of the Caliciviridae family. It causes a disease in pigs that is clinically indistinguishable from those caused by the viruses responsible for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and swine vesicular disease (SVD).
