Edwardsiella is a genus of gram-negative, fermentative bacteria belonging to the family Hafniaceae. These rod-shaped bacteria are facultatively anaerobic and can occasionally act as opportunistic pathogens in humans. Notable species in this genus include Edwardsiella hoshinae, Edwardsiella ictaluri, and Edwardsiella tarda.
