Target Information

H2 influenza viruses have occasionally been detected in poultry across the United States and Europe. Although H2 is actively present in avian species, it circulates less frequently compared to other influenza subtypes. These viruses have consistently shown low pathogenicity in poultry. Typically, low pathogenicity avian influenza (LPAI) viruses cause symptoms like sneezing, coughing, and nasal discharge in poultry, as well as sinusitis in waterfowl and quail.
